This is a 4" x 4" sample from a short creative embroidery course I'm doing. I haven't done detached chain stitch like this before - the last time would have been daisys on a tray cloth, too long ago to want to think about, but there is nothing new here.
I'm sure that I'm learning from the class and perhaps it is too soon to assimilate exactly what, but how do I stop doing what I already do and push myself into the unknown ??????

Try edging yourself into different stuff. For instance...Make a postcard, however you like. Then make another, challenging one of the assumptions you made in the first one...perhaps in a different set of colours (I never work in ...say...orange...but I do now). See how far you can push that particular series...if you see what I mean? Maybe we should try this on aql?
