LG #1 - Lucy in the sky
Machine foundation pieced onto a piece of A4 copy paper, folded and torn into sections. The dark blue diagonal comes first, the other stripes built up from it.
LG = Little gem. Not my description of this piece, but the theme for which it was made. To quote Margaret Cooter - "The bag tombola at last year's FoQ was very popular and successful, and this year the tombola will have the theme of Little Gems - A4sized quilts. The Little Gems idea is based on the journal quilts done by theContemporary Group -- we made one a month in 2007. Some people found working small was a challenge - some found it was a delight! The Little Gems tombola would love to have your contributions. We'll be putting more information on the Guild website(<http://www.quiltersguild.org.uk/index.php?page=16>) in the new year, including detailed information and links to useful websites. (In the meantime I'm happy to answer questions via this blog's comments). For the moment, keep in mind that your Little Gem needs to be A4 size when finished, three layers held together by stitch, with edges finished "appropriately" -- and it can use any technique.
