A day out - A day off ....

So where do you go for a day out - Preston?  Maybe not, but for us it was just right - a chance to find out about a soon to open nature reserve at Brockholes, a bit of family past, a bit of shopping, a nice lunch and a walk around the Harris Gallery and Museum.  I was fortunate in that they had a touring exhibition showing the work of Shirley Craven and Hull Traders:

The thing that struck me most was the amount of decorative ironwork around the City.  There is a sense of Victorian civic pride that continues today:
