I first came across this tool when I was developing a website for the day job. It is intended to help web designers develop colour schemes for new sites, but I immediately saw it's potential for use in my work. It is extremely straightforward to use, you browse to a saved picture, select a grid to give 9, 25 or 49 colours then click the "select image" button.
