Intriguing patterns

On a recent walk in a local NT park we came across a recently felled tree. One look at the branches scattered around the base showed that the tree wasn't in a healthy state. The patterns on this cut section were gorgeous.

Wood turners sometimes use "blighted" wood, and it looks lovely as bowls. The fungus makes odd patterns - amazing.
