A new love

I seem to have fallen in love ... with ceramics. Ming or modern there is something about the elegance of a well formed 'pot' that make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

And if it isn't the shape then there is there surface decoration:

 

I am definitely not giving up my love of stitch for this messy medium but how do I incorporate this gorgeousness into my quilts? Is it enough to cannibalise a curve from here and a decoration from there or can I do more with this? Time to move on from doodling to something more purposeful, step one will be to take the design from my last 12bythe dozen challenge piece and move it on ... somehow
