Aubergine

Today was reveal day over at the 12bythedozen blog and as ever I'm amazed by the variety of interpretations members come up with and the range of skills used to create the pieces. It took me a long time to get started on this challenge piece, I seemed to be bereft of ideas but when I finally got round to making what was my original idea i had to make a second piece using the freeform piecing that  is running through everything I'm doing at the moment. I suspect that I thought far too hard and far too long over this one. Our next challenge is 'green' and ideas are simmering already!
