Today was the brightest* it has been for ages, though the breeze kept the temperature down. What I had forgotten is how nice evenings can be at this time of year - the sky is absolutely clear and everything is really calm.
*The following from Gruts has had me chortling all day, but we have been so fortunate here, not to have suffered from the weather this summer:
"What the hell is that?!!
I just went outside and the sky was this freakish blue colour. And bang in the middle of it was this blindingly bright round object that appeared to be emanating heat.
I have heard tales of such phenomena, but have, until now, put them down to the ramblings of the deranged and feeble-minded. It's the dawn of a new era."
