January TIF completed ...

... and it's only the 19th, I wonder how long that will last!

I had more difficulty with the foil on this than I could have imagined. It's not something that I usually have a problem with, but I suspect that it's the bondaweb that is causing the problem. I hadn't intended to use an anchoring stitch - I wanted to retain the simplicity but the leaves were beginning to curl away from the background so I had little choice and I feel that it changes the piece quite a lot.

Then, of course the foil wreaks havoc with the camera so that you get glare but no detail. What it does do is emphasize the wavy satin stitch, which isn't quite as bad as it seems! I know that I should learn to use my camera to better effect but it's one of those things that doesn't even get on the 'to do' list!!!

Its lovely, congrats on getting it finished in time. My biggest fear is getting behind with this once summer starts and two wheeled adventures take over:)

Hi Linda
What a transformation, I think the addition of the foil was a super idea, it's really bought the whole design to life!
Thanks for your comments on my Feb PC, I was a great piece to make.

Oh I do like it - I was watching your progress on Flickr too.

In response to your (and other people's) questions on transfer paints I wrote a post specific to them. Thanks for your kind words -

I loved reading about the progress of this piece, and I REALLY LIKE your second piece, as well! I love strong simple shapes---see, just the shapes indicated "strong" to me!

Beautiful work, all
