Children's working conditions in a Victorian pin factory ...

may not seem like an obvious subject for a quilt but I've actually made several pieces based on my reaction to the way people were treated as cogs in the industrial money making machine. It's sad that although my work so far has mainly been inspired by our own industrial revolution, similar examples can still be found around the world today.

The pin factory in question was in Warrington where our next 10+ exhibition is to be held. This pile of fabric is set to become a reflection on the monotony of piece work and the long hours expected of children as much as adults.

Thank you Adam Smith
